ICC and SDL Partnership to Integrate Codes

The International Code Council and Spatial Data Logic are making it even easier for Building Officials, Code Officials, Subcode Inspectors and Technical Assistants to easily access code data right when they need it. SDL software users will soon be able to instantly search for and insert code data while completing their plan reviews, violations, failed inspection notices and other documents.

The Code Council is a member-focused association dedicated to developing model codes and standards used in the design, build and compliance process to construct safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient structures. The International Codes, developed by the Code Council, are the most widely used and adopted set of building safety codes in the world.

SDL Online Plan Review – ICC Statute lookup sidebar

Coming soon, all SDL Software will be completely integrated with the current ICC regulatory codes. Software users will merely need to search for and select the specific ICC codes, such as:

  • 2015 New Jersey Fire Code
  • 2018 New Jersey Residential Code
  • 2018 New Jersey Building Code
  • 2018 International Energy Conservation Code
  • 2018 International Fuel Gas Code
  • 2018 International Mechanical Code
  • 2018 International Property Maintenance Code
  • 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code

This feature will be active on all platforms of the SDL Software, including SDL Desktop, SDL Mobile and SDL Portal. The ICC codes will also be integrated into SDL’s new Online Plan Review. This functionality will eliminate the need for users to manually lookup and paste specific codes into their documents from an external source. SDL will also be expanding this relationship with the other ICC subsidiaries and future codes as well.

“New Jersey is an important state for ICC. We are very excited to work with Spatial Data Logic to make codes available to our members where they want them, when they want them on any device.”

-John Belcik, International Code Council COO/CFO
SDL Mobile – Statute Selection view

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the ICC in this ground-breaking concept of integrated codes and looking forward to expanding this relationship to the entire ICC family.”

-Jack Flood, Spatial Data Logic Vice President

Currently, SDL is the first and only Software provider working directly with the ICC to incorporate codes data into the software in this way. We are excited to be able to work with the ICC in this capacity and look to have all ICC codes fully integrated into SDL Desktop, SDL Mobile and SDL Portal very soon.
