Safety

Provide your citizens with peace-of-mind, at every turn.

Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the areas where people visit, work and live is a top priority for your municipality. The SDL Municipal Management Software Safety modules were specially designed to coordinate information related to licensing, records and inspections for health and safety departments, in order to help you better protect and serve the citizens of your community. Your municipality will benefit from having all information integrated into one piece of software – helping to prevent error and ensure consistent records.

Many municipalities have adopted ordinances to encourage residents to keep their property free of nuisances and hazardous conditions as a means of public safety and to improve the community’s curb appeal. The enforcement of this code requires field inspections and the issuance of a violation notice, summons or lien. SDL simplifies this process with our Code Enforcement Module that enables field inspectors to search the tax database, cite violations, input inspection results and enforce your code.

  • Schedules annual and ad-hoc inspection of properties; logs results
  • Generates violations, summons and penalties
  • Calculates fees and enables you to issue violation notices
  • Keeps history of all inspections results, fines, complaints, photos and other data for all properties
  • Local ordinance and other codes can be loaded into the program for issuance of citations
  • Ease of use for building inspectors that will also be using other SDL modules
  • Online permit applications and inspection requests accepted through the SDL Portal

icons-09Fire Prevention

Fire Prevention Bureaus are charged with the enforcement of the Uniform Fire Code of the State of New Jersey. This responsibility calls for periodic inspections of commercial buildings, health care facilities, restaurants, businesses and schools. Scheduling the inspections, recording results, issuing licenses and managing violations are functions that can be conducted more efficiently with automation. Daily, weekly and monthly reminders and reports will enable maximum efficiency and success.

Our Fire Prevention Module allows you to smoothly communicate within the network of municipal departments while serving and protecting your residents.

  • Fire inspections, certificates, violations and complaints can be processed, tracked and printed
  • Complaints of Code violations can be received from other municipal employees or citizens
  • All data (including historical data) will be stored at your municipality
  • Easy-to-use menus and navigation
  • Look up status and search for citations
  • All fire prevention data is now linked to tax information, enabling reporting and spatial analysis
  • Integrated mapping tools are easy to use
  • Accepts inquiries to the Fire Prevention Bureau via the SDL Portal

The Police Module is a new development for SDL. Currently, we have the basic core of this module available for use. However, we are working on expanding the module further.

  • Register alarm systems
  • Access all parcel data from various departments

icons-11Health

Health departments in a municipality carry a burden of responsibility when it comes to the well-being of residents, including the cleanliness and certification of retail food establishments, the abatement of all public health complaints, the enforcement of state codes (e.g. recreational bathing, nursery and day care facilities) and the preservation and protection of our surface and groundwater supplies.

These responsibilities require periodic inspections of said facilities. Scheduling the inspections, recording results, issuing licenses and violations are functions that can be performed more efficiently with automation. Daily, weekly and monthly reminders and reports will enable maximum efficiency and success, resulting in safer communities.

SDL believes that health departments are service organizations that operate within a network of departments with a greater purpose: to serve and protect the citizens of their community. To effectively operate within a network, you must be able to communicate with the other members, interact with them, see what they are doing and share data with them. Our Health Module allows municipalities to do just that.

  • Complaints of public health violations can be received from other municipal employees or citizens
  • Health inspections, certificates, licenses, violations and complaints can be linked, processed, tracked and printed
  • Status look-up and search for citation
  • Municipal tax (MOD-IV) data is easily updated by your Assessor
  • GIS integration
  • All health data is now linked to tax information enabling reporting and spatial analysis
  • Integrated mapping tools are easy to use
  • Accepts inquiries to the health department via the SDL Portal
  • Easy-to-use menus and navigation

icons-12Pet Licensing

Our Pet Licensing Module tracks all of the relevant data required for each pet that is licensed within your municipality. Manage both the local licensing process and the state reporting process all within the SDL software.

By maintaining a catalog of all pets, municipal employees can access properties where pets reside with confidence, as they will know what licensed animals are on the premises. In addition, the information contained within the Pet Licensing Module will be available at a moment’s notice across numerous departments. This information is relevant for building inspectors, code enforcement, or business inspectors.

  • Create mailing lists for renewal of pet licenses
  • Use the mail-merge feature for generation of mailing labels to all pet owners
  • Issue pet licenses and manage the process from start to finish
  • Reporting and search tools enable you to find any pet or group of pets
  • The location of any pet or group of pets can be displayed on your parcel map
  • State VPH-10 report is included
  • Rabies immunization tracking
  • A database of all veterinarians and their contact information can be tracked and managed
  • Integrated into your GIS
  • Licenses can now be linked to a parcel
  • All pet data is now linked to tax information enabling reporting and spatial analysis
